Please find below the latest news and opportunities in Australian, Canadian, and Aotearoa New Zealand Studies 🙂
News:
Just a reminder about the Call for Papers for Volume 1, Issue 2 of ACNZSN’s Journal of Australian, Canadian, and Aotearoa New Zealand Studies (JACANZS). The deadline for the submission of manuscripts is 30 June 2021.
You can watch a video of Professor Bruce Scates in conversation with Professor Jay Winter on ‘The Aftermath of ANZAC’ here. This was a special presentation from the Menzies Australia Institute, King’s College London, and the School of History and the Australian Studies Institute at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra.
The Stout Research Centre for New Zealand Studies at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington is organising a symposium on ‘Revolutions per minute: the sixties counterculture in Aotearoa New Zealand’ on Saturday 29 May 2021, 9.30am-4pm (NZST). The symposium is convened by Nick Bollinger, the J.D. Stout Fellow for 2021. You can view the symposium programme here.
You can also watch a video of a fascinating and very topical panel on ‘A new cultural reckoning? Gendered violence and misogyny in Australia and the UK’ here. The panel featured Julia Gillard, Elizabeth Broderick, Farah Nazeer, and Professor Liz Kelly.
