News:

ACNZSN is excited to announce the publication of Jatinder Mann and Alison Clark (Editors), Indigeneity and the British World: Settler Colonialism, Resistance, and Self-Determination (Peter Lang Publishing, 2026) in the ‘Studies in Transnationalism’ book series which is published under the auspices of ACNZSN! Dr. Jatinder Mann is the Creator and Manager of ACNZSN and the Editor-in-chief of its Journal of Australian, Canadian, and Aotearoa New Zealand Studies (JACANZS), and Dr. Alison Clark is a public supporter of ACNZSN and a long-standing member of the editorial board of JACANZS 🙂

If you are interested in submitting a proposal for the ‘Studies in Transnationalism’ book series please contact the Executive Editor of the series, Dr. Jatinder Mann for further information on the process via email at j.mann@reading.ac.uk.

A reminder also about ACNZSN’s Donna Coates Book Prize (named in honour of the late Associate Professor Emeritus Donna Coates). The deadline is 31 December 2026.

The Book Reviews Editor of JACANZS, Dr. Jatinder Mann is also looking for reviewers of the following books for JACANZS. If you are interested in reviewing any of the books please contact Dr. Mann at the email address provided on the list.

ACNZSN is sad to announce that Emeritus Professor Alex Calder of Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland will be stepping down from his role as a part of the Editorial Board of JACANZS as he has now retired. Tēnā koe to Alex for being such a valuable member of the board, always willing to recommend reviewers and even reviewing books and manuscripts himself. ACNZSN is pleased to announce though that Dr. Dougal McNeill of Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington will be joining the editorial board of JACANZS. Tēnā koe to Dougal for kindly agreeing to join the board and we are confident that his expertise will be of great benefit to the board and journal 🙂 And Dougal’s appointment to the board illustrates the importance JACANZS places on the discipline of literature being represented on the board as the journal is an inter- and multidisciplinary one.

The History Council of New South Wales’ annual History Week will be taking place on 5-13 September 2026. The theme is ‘Keeping Stories’. Registration for events is open here.
